My name is Jeanne Sabga but my kiddos know me as Aunty Jeanne! From the moment I became an OT my dream and vision was to one day open the doors to Theraplay. When this dream came to life I truly believed the saying "when reality is better than dreaming". I am truly rewarded in my profession each day and have never looked back. I received my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University, ON, Canada, and then went on to receive a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Queensland in Australia. All of my internships have been in a pediatric setting, working with children and adolescents in acute inpatient programs and outpatient clinics. Shortly after graduating in November 2012, I was eager to return home and begin my career in the field of pediatrics. My passion in general is working with kids with motor deficits and delays, but more specifically kids with feeding challenges. I love engaging and learning from the children and families here in Trinidad and I will continue to be devoted to promoting the highest level of development. I feel so fortunate to work alongside the best multidisciplinary team in a clinic setting. I enjoy spending time with my family, my husband and three kids, and more recently enjoying the beauty of our island doing outdoor activities.

My name is Andrea Chamely and I'm the Mental Health Counselor at Theraplay. I've been working here since we opened our doors over 5 years ago. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Warwick in England and then went on to complete my 2 Masters degrees at the University of Pennsylvania where I graduated with degrees in Mental Health Counselling and School Counselling. I went on to complete postgraduate supervision and licensing exams to get licensed in the US and get National Counselor Certification. My love for children led to my training and clinical experience being in child and adolescent treatment. It has been such an engaging and fulfilling experience getting to return home and begin private practice work in a setting like Theraplay with such passionate co-workers and families that have given me such great learning and growing experiences every single day.

Hi, I’m Charlotte (Edghill) Hamel-Smith also known as “Aunty Charlotte.” I achieved my degree in Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Reading, UK, and have been practicing in Trinidad since 2014. Throughout my course, I was fortunate enough to work with a wide variety of client groups, including both kids and adults. My passion for working with children however is the main reason I pursued this career, so upon returning to Trinidad I dove directly into paediatrics and haven’t looked back! Communication is a right, not a privilege, and I feel beyond grateful to help my clients improve their ability to connect and communicate with others on a daily basis!

Hi, I’m Eva Edghill! I was first introduced to Occupational Therapy by my sister, Charlotte, who is a speech therapist and I began volunteering with our director Jeanne in 2015. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to be an occupational therapist. I graduated in 2021 from Bournemouth University with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy with first-class honors. Since graduating, I have been here at Theraplay helping kids to develop their motor skills, their ability to self-regulate as well as their social-emotional awareness. I feel so fulfilled at the end of the day knowing that I’ve given my all and worked hard to educate, support, and advocate for my clients and their families.

Hi! My name is Isabelle van der Steen. I am a clinical and health psychologist with a strong educational background and a passion for improving mental health. I graduated with a Master's degree in Psychology, specializing in Clinical Psychology, and Health Psychology & Digital Interventions from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. My academic journey started there with a Bachelor's in Psychology, where I delved into a diverse range of subfields, ultimately specializing in clinical psychology and obtaining a minor in legal psychology and behavioral economics.
My interest in psychology is multifaceted, and it extends beyond the traditional realm. I work with both children and adults in their various obstacles using mental health therapy. The dual specialization equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of mental health issues and innovative interventions for the digital age.

Hello, I’m Chelsea Walcott. My journey into Occupational Therapy began in 2011 when I discovered the profound impact this field can have on people’s lives. This revelation led me to earn my B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of the West Indies, CaveHill, Barbados, and later an M.Sc. in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern Caribbean in Trinidad. I have always dedicated myself to working with children. My approach to therapy is hands on and collaborative, always focusing on a play-based approach to promote success. I believe that play is a child’s most important work and by extension therapy should be fun and meaningful. I find immense fulfillment in knowing that each day I contribute to the growth and well-being of the children and families I work with.

Hi, I’m Elise Scott! My journey began with my Undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of the West Indies, where I first developed a strong interest in understanding human behaviour and mental well-being. After completing my degree, I pursued my master’s in health psychology at the University of Bath which provided me with a deeper understanding of how psychological principles can support health and development.
Following my studies, I had the privilege of working at a specialized centre for autistic children in the UK, where I gained invaluable experience providing 1:1 support to help children develop key skills and enhance their learning. I discovered a passion for learning through play and attention autism interventions, which were incredibly effective in supporting the children's communication and social development. I saw firsthand how important it was to create individualized, engaging environments that addressed each child’s specific needs while promoting their autonomy and confidence.
This experience shaped my passion for supporting children on the autism spectrum and inspired me to bring these methods and approaches back to Trinidad. My goal is to help children build vital life skills, improve their social-emotional awareness, and foster a sense of self-regulation. I’m excited to continue my journey in supporting children with autism, and I believe that learning is a lifelong process. I'm motivated to keep perfecting my practice by educating, advocating, and supporting both the children and their families as they navigate their unique journeys.
